Huawei Honor View 20 – Release Date, Price, Features, and Specifications

Huawei Honor View 20

Update: Honor View 20 will be Released in January 2019 with 48MP Sensor

Huawei’s subsidiary brand has been coming up on the rails for the past few years with fully-baked smartphones without breaking users’ banks. However, it’s ever been able to grab the attention and headlines when it comes to Real Technological innovation. But with Honor View 20 in Australia, things seem to be changed entirely.

This is Honor’s first and foremost smartphone to sport a “punch-hole” screen – it means the front-facing camera is no longer in a notch – however, just a small hole for it in the screen. Moreover, it is sporting 48MP rear camera, making it world’s first smartphone with these number of MPs on a handset.

Though the latest innovation isn’t in a number of MPs, in the way a handset feels in the hands. Let’s keep going and find out more in our Honor View 20 review in Australia below.

The official Honor View 20 release date for so many countries is January 22nd, 2018, as Honor has already sent out invites for a launch event on that date.

The Honor View 20 release date in China was somewhere in December 2018. It is already on shelves all over China and one can buy it with immediate effects.

Talking about Honor View 20 release date in Australia, it’s yet to be confirmed – but, it’ll be landed on stores sooner. Most probably, January 22nd will be an official Honor View 20 launch date – not only for the UK but for the whole world as well.

Huawei Honor View 20 Price

As for how much will it set users back, there is not even a single word. However, Honor View 20 Price is most likely be around $580 or a little more. We have added our educated guess based on last year’s released Honor View 10.

If $580 is to be believed, Honor View 20 Price in Australia will be somewhere in between the range of 799-850. And one will be able to pick it up in a choice of 4 amazing colors – Magic Night Black, Red, Phantom Blue, and Sea Blue.

Huawei Honor View 20 Design

The Honor View 20 Design is a lot identical to recently released Huawei Nova 4. It’s having really all screen on the front with minimal bezels around the sides. Honor has spent a lot of time creating a new visual design outback which results in kind of cascading V.

That sounds like it looks incredibly impressive when the light catches it. The Black View 20 especially catches the eye with an almost neon, 8-bit look.

The volume rockers and power button are mounted on the right-hand side which sounds fine and feels like one will easily be able to access these buttons. The rear of the handset is slightly curved – enabling for a whopping 4000mAh battery inside.

Huawei Honor View 20 Display

The massive and impressive 6.4-inches IPS LCD screen is quite unique thanks to the small hole punched on the top-left corner of the handset.

The Honor View 20 Display resolution is 1080 x 2310 Pixels and it’s an IPS LCD. It’s been built into the layers of the phone’s display itself which sounds similar to OLED Technology.

All right! It’s not really a high resolution – nor is it using the most innovative screen technology. However, it’s lacking a notch which is certainly striking and going to turn some heads.

Huawei Honor View 20 Punch Hole

The hole-punch screen is a novel way to reduce bezels of the smartphones and Honor is by no means the only brand thinking with this latest display tech. Looks like, Samsung is all set to launch Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy A8S with the same display technology.

Huawei Honor View 20 Performance

Digging down inside the beast, it’s powered by HiSilicon Kirin 980 Chipset which is manufactured according to 7-nanometer process technology. Together with the latest architecture, Kirin 980 Chipset received a new graphics accelerometer – 10-core Mali-G76. This is 46% more productive as compared to Mali G72 MP12 in HiSilicon Kirin 970.

There are three different options to choose from in terms of RAM and ROM. The 6GB of RAM with 128GB of ROM, 8GB of RAM with 128GB of ROM and 8GB of RAM with a hefty 256GB of onboard memory. Wants to expand it further? No! You cannot.

Huawei Honor View 20 Camera

Out front, there is only a single lens with a resolution of 25MP with an f/2.0 aperture. It’s loaded with AI (Artificial Technology) and a customizable portal enhancement feature.

Moving on the back side, it is sporting dual cameras – composed of a Sony MIX586 photo module with a resolution of the 48MP lens and 3D TOF camera (Time of Flight).

This extremely high resolution of the matrix enables users to get frames of high detail and its design feature. It’s also supporting slow-motion video recording at 960pfs in HG quality.

Huawei Honor View 20 Battery

The Honor View 20 Battery capacity is 4000mAh (non-removable) which stands longer among handsets in its category. It’s also against flagship devices like iPhone XS Max which as 17% less battery – but, costs significantly more.

It’s the fastest charging smartphone which charges as fast as Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Normally, flagship devices tend to charge less rapidly as compared to Oppo and Huawei’s best. However, they charge still fast than Samsung and LG. The Apple handsets are the slowest out of the box with only 1/5th at charging speed than Mate 20 Pro.

OS, Connectivity, and Sensors

The handset is running on Android Pie 9.0 operating system based on Huawei’s own Magic UI 2. The sensors of View 20 include rear-mounted Fingerprint, Accelerometer, Compass, Proximity, and Gyro. And as far as connectivity options are concerned, it’s coming along with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Dual-Band, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and 3.1 Type-C 1.0 reversible connector.

Importantly Honor has already collaborated with fashion brand “Moschino” to manufacture Honor View 20 Moschino Edition. Although, exact details about this special edition are yet to be revealed. Honor has said that we will have a range of Moschino-inspired products sooner. So, we may see quite a few products near in the future.
